Karen is the new Member Services & Business Advancement Coordinator at the Queen Street Commons.
She came to Prince Edward Island in 1993 after completing a BSc(Agr) at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. Karen landed with the intent of staying for the summer;however events and circumstances caused her to stay, start a family, a small business, and to immerse herself in her community and the local agriculture industry. During this time she has gained considerable experience in: both public and private agriculture research programs; working with private industry and non profit organizations; adult education; and, public policy analysis.
Her passion is her three children, Zachary, Jessica and David who are very busy, creative and curious 14, 12 and 11 year old children; she is committed to their continued growth and learning. She is herself, a perpetual learner, and is near completion of an MBA. She sees the Queen Street Commons as a tremendous opportunity for knowledge exchange and learning and looks forward to the next 6 months.
