Choose one of the following topics to write your own narrative essay. The topic you decide on should be something you care about, and the narration should be a means of communicating an that ties to the essay’s theme. Remember in this essay, the narration is not an end in itself.
Like does the paper need to be completely done? Is it okay for some stuff to be missing? For some sentences to be grammatically incorrect? Because the way I write my drafts is weird and everything doesn't make sense until I put it together in better sentences. I just write down whatever is in my brain. Does my teacher need to see that?

I often find reading a text out loud is helpful when in the proofreading stage of any writing task. Even more helpful though, is hearing your text read aloud. That is when you really spot if there are any errors hidden in the text. It doesn't allow for your brain to automatically 'fix' things your eyes may be seeing, as you are not the one reading the copy. There are a number of tools that can read text on your computer, however, I simply use the read-aloud function within Microsoft Word. I actually make a written list:What does my target audience care about? What's making them read this—what to they hope to gain from it? Am I delivering on that?Who is my target audience? What tone of voice will feel most familiar and comfortable to them? Is how how I'm writing? And then I carefully scan for anything that doesn't meet those goals. It's really common for other motives to "sneak in," like the "voice" the client prefers, or the message they feel like communicating. You have to really push everything toward the reader, their perspective, their needs, and their world.
